‘Call of Duty’ Celebrates 50 Years of Hip Hop

Activision’s

“Call of Duty: Warzone” and “Modern Warfare II” are adding new playable characters to the roster to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop.   

Owner of Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage have been announced as the new operators landing in the “

Call of Duty

” franchise.   

As part of the free content and special bundles available in Season 5, the playable characters come with an updated track list featuring hip-hop music throughout the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000s for those logging in at separate intervals from Aug. 7-16.   

These licensed appearances mark the second tour of “Call of Duty” for Snoop Dogg, a debut for 21 Savage, and Minaj has reportedly become the franchise’s first self-named female operator.
