Vivid Toy Group has unveiled the first toys in its new line for the upcoming film Walking with Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie from BBC Earth.

Vivid Toy Group has unveiled the first toys in its new line for the upcoming film Walking with Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie, created by BBC Earth in partnership with Evergreen Films, Twentieth Century Fox and Reliance Big Pictures in association with IM Global.

Inspired by BBC’s TV documentary mini-series from 1999, Walking with Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie will launch in theaters worldwide this December.

As worldwide master toy and game partner for the brand, Vivid is planning a full range of product that will include collectibles, toys, plush, role play, games and puzzles.

"We're thrilled to be working with Vivid Toy Group on a fantastic array of toys that will delight a new generation of dino fans,” says Soumya Sriraman, executive vice president, home entertainment and licensing, BBC Worldwide America.

The full line is set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year in conjunction with the film release, but Vivid unveiled one of its hero toys during New York Toy Fair–dinosaur stomping feet.

“We’re incredibly excited about the Walking with Dinosaurs toy range that will introduce children to a host of new dinosaur characters that they will fall in love with on screen,” says Neil Bandtock, managing director, Vivid Toy. “The reboot of the Walking with Dinosaurs brand presents us with a massive opportunity in the toy space to establish a perennial collectible franchise underpinned by a brand that is known and loved across the globe.”

The toy range was created in collaboration with BBC Earth and expert paleontologists to create authentic products that stayed true to the film.

“Walking with Dinosaurs is a dynamic, global brand that has sparked the imagination of kids and adults alike. Now we are taking it to a whole new level with Walking with Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie, our cornerstone release for Christmas 2013,” says Kieran Breen, head of marketing, Twentieth Century Fox International. “Breakthrough technology will bring to the big screen dinosaurs that have never before been seen on film and which are rendered in such breathtaking, photo-real detail, you will really believe you are walking with dinosaurs.”
