TRU to Debut Octonauts Line

Toys ‘R’ Us will be the first retailer in the U.S. to offer Fisher-Price’s new assortment of toys for the hit preschool series “Octonauts.”

The new line of action figures, play sets and vehicles will debut at TRU stores and online in March.

“Octonauts,” which is produced by Silvergate Media with animation by Brown Bag Films, airs daily on the Disney Channel and Disney Junior.

The series follows the underwater adventures of Captain Barnacles Bear and his crew as they explore and protect the world’s oceans. The series initially launched in the U.K. in 2010 before making its U.S. debut in January 2012.

“The Octonauts franchise has already won the hearts of young U.S. fans who are eagerly anticipating the introduction of this preschool toy line so they can be among the first to recreate scenes from the popular series with its adorable and captivating characters,” says Jamie Uitdenhowen, vice president, divisional merchandising manager, TRU U.S. “We are thrilled to partner with Fisher-Price to launch this line of toys which will allow children to interact with their favorite undersea friends.”
