Smiley Inks Rubik's Pub Deals

GLOBAL–The Smiley Company, master licensee for the Rubik’s brand, has unveiled a variety of new publishing partnerships for the popular ‘80s game.

The classic puzzle game has partnered with international publishers for activity books, gift sets and more.  

GLOBAL–The Smiley Company, master licensee for the Rubik’s brand, has unveiled a variety of new publishing partnerships for the popular ‘80s game.

First, U.K.-based Carlton Books has launched an adult logic puzzle book based on the iconic brand, entitled Rubik’s Puzzzles: 101 Puzzles to Test Your Brain Power in the U.K., Hungary, Czech Republic. The book will be released in the U.S. later this year.

Meanwhile, Egmont Publishing will release two Rubik’s titled this year–How To Solve The Rubik's Cube, an official guide to solving the cube, and Rubik's Children's Brain Teasers, which is a book of puzzles and riddles for kids.

In France, Place des Editeurs is launching the Rubik’s Roll’Cube for the gift market to add this popular range of cube-shaped boxes featuring a range of brain-teasing Rubik’s questions and challenges.

Finally, children’s publisher Hemma, part of Planeta Group's publishing arm, has already launched a range of Rubik’s inspired children's titles in French including Sudoku pour les Enfants, with plans for additional logic and mosaic-inspired books.
