Just Play has announced the launch of its line of furReal interactive pets into major U.K. retailers under license by Hasbro. The two companies signed a worldwide master toy licensing agreement for the furReal brand last year.

The collection of lifelike animals includes Newborns, Wag-a-lots, Walk-a-lots and My Minis, all created to cater to different styles of play. Newborns reflect the needs of a younger animal, and children can care for their newborn puppy or kitten by brushing, feeding and swaddling them. For an active playtime, Wag-a-lots and Walk-a-lots recreate the excitement of taking a pet for a stroll with detachable leads, animal sounds, bobbing heads and swishy tails.

The new furReal My Minis are palm-size pets that include interactive features such as moving their heads and tails when stroked and making animal noises.

Earlier this month, License Global spoke with Anna Chapman, vice president, international licensing, Just Play, about how Just Play further expands children’s imaginations through its licensed toys.

“After such a positive reaction to the furReal collection of pet toys, we’re thrilled to now see them at retail,” says Amy Saunders, sales director, Just Play. “This range of toys mimics the joys of having a pet and teaches children the value in nurturing and caring for an animal.”
