Shout! Inks Rights to 'Sesame' Home Entertainment

Sesame Workshop and Shout! Factory have entered into a distribution partnership for the “Sesame Street" home entertainment catalog.

The multi-year deal appoints Shout! Factory to the official distribution for “Sesame Street” in North America. With exclusive rights including DVD and Blu-ray, video-on-demand and select digital rights to more than 150 titles based on the “Sesame Street” television series as well as four new “Sesame Street”-themed programs per year for cross-platform releases in the U.S. and Canada.

“Shout! Factory is perfectly poised to extend Sesame Street content to the growing number of home entertainment distribution platforms,” says Jennifer A. Perry, vice president, North America Media Products, Sesame Workshop. “We look forward to developing brand-new titles with Shout! Factory for both our core audience of families with young children and the three generations of adults who continue to enjoy classic Sesame Street segments that were an important part of their childhoods.”
