“The Dark Crystal” has expanded its universe in the form of licensed books and comics.

Following the premiere of the Netflix Original series “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,” a 10-episode puppet-filled prequel to the 1982 classic film, Jim Henson’s characters have made their way to titles from multiple publishers.

Several new titles from Penguin Random House, Insight Editions and Boom! Studios are available at book retailers across the U.S.

From Penguin Random House are three books by J.M. Lee, a staff writer on “The Dark Crystal, Age of Resistance”:

A book from Insight Editions comes in the form of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance: Inside the Epic Return to Thra, which is written by Daniel Wallace, with a foreword by executive producer Lisa Henson.

For comic fans comes Jim Henson’s “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,” a 12-issue official prequel to the Netflix series.

Along with the critically acclaimed Netflix Original series “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,” Henson’s most recent television credits include “Word Party” and the Emmy-nominated PBS series “Splash and Bubbles and Dinosaur Train.”

The 10-episode prequel to the 1982 film “The Dark Crystal” is now streaming on Netflix.
