“Peg + Cat Live! The Big Dog Problem” is based on an episode of the same name and follows Peg as she attempts to deliver some important letters for her mom. She is intercepted by a big dog on her way to the post and must use her problem-solving skills, as well as math and reason to overcome the challenge.
The production will feature large-scale puppets, light-up math facts, songs from the show and other elements. Purdue University will be on-site at select performances to administer a unique nationwide study of the basic math skills children learn after attending the live show.
“We’re delighted to work with the Brad Simon Organization and Bay Area Children’s Theatre to bring ‘Peg + Cat’ to life on stage for the very first time,” says Paul Siefken, president and chief executive officer, Fred Rogers Productions. “With this new live production, preschoolers and their families will get to engage with their favorite characters and stories from the popular series in a whole new way, while honing their early math skills all along the way.”
Tickets for “Peg + Cat Live! The Big Dog Problem” are available now at https://pegpluscatlive.com/. Stops include Philadelphia, Pa., Morristown, N.J., Columbus, Ohio, Ann Arbor, Mich. and more. Tour dates will be announced soon.
