Netflix has secured a long-term deal with Cookie Jar Entertainment to stream its animated and live-action programming through the Internet in the U.S. and Canada.

U.S. Netflix subscribers will have access to "Busytown," "Johnny Test," "Metajets" and "Strawberry Shortcake"—totaling nearly 200 half-hours of programming. In Canada, the deal covers 500 half-hours of "Bunch of Munsch," "Caillou," "Country Mouse City Mouse," "Heathcliff," "Horseland," "Inspector Gadget," "Paddington," "Wimzie's House" and "Zoboomafoo."

"Internet streaming offers tremendous opportunities for leveraging our catalog of nearly 6,000 half-hour episodes of television series, the second largest kids' library in the world," says Michael Hirsh, chief executive officer of Cookie Jar. "With these ground-breaking agreements in hand, we are actively pursuing additional digital distribution deals worldwide."

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
