CBSAccess is rebranding as Paramount+ early next year. With the rebranding, ViacomCBS is hoping to become a bigger player in global streaming.
According to Variety, the new name will coincide with another expansion of its original programming efforts and its archive of programming drawn from the newly combined Viacom and CBS Corp. archives.
“Paramount is an iconic and storied brand beloved by consumers all over the world, and it is synonymous with quality, integrity and world-class storytelling,” says Bob Bakish, president and chief executive officer, ViacomCBS. “With Paramount Plus, we’re excited to establish one global streaming brand in the broad-pay segment that will draw on the sheer breadth and depth of the ViacomCBS portfolio to offer an extraordinary collection of content for everyone to enjoy.”
The rebrand will also see an addition of library shows from CBS, BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and more. Networks like BET, Comedy Central and other ViacomCBS imprints will also produce original content for the service.
Paramount Plus is set to offer around 30,000 series episodes and films in the service.
