'Thomas & Friends' 23rd Season is on Track

Mattel has greenlit the 23rd season as well as three new specials for its preschool series “Thomas & Friends.”

The new season will include 20 x 11-minute episodes and three 22-minute specials that will continue the brand’s themes of exploration and discovery will add new locations and friends from across the globe. The new season will bring the “Thomas & Friends” library to more than 550 episodes.

The greenlit series has already been picked up by Channel 5 Milkshake (U.K.), ABC TV (Australia), Televisa (Mexico), TV Cultura (Brazil), Super RTL (Germany) and Nick Jr. (U.S.).

The new season of “Thomas & Friends” will premiere in 2019.
