‘Deer Squad’ Joins Nickelodeon and Highlights CP Line

Learn about the newest hit franchise from Nickelodeon Asia and its consumer products rollout.

At Festival of Licensing, Claire O’Connor, vice president, licensing, retail marketing, Asia Pacific, Nickelodeon, introduced each adorable character from the newest hit animated series “Deer Squad,” which has already launched in Asia, the U.K., and Australia.

Syahrizan Mansor, vice president, Nickelodeon Asia, shared how “Deer Squad” marks the first Chinese production for Nickelodeon.

“It focuses on community, team work and friendship,” says Mansor. 

The rescue show follows four loveable young deer characters and explores various themes that span good vs. bad. The series’ episodes feature rescue missions with a happy ending and slapstick comedy. As a gender-neutral, highly-rated series aimed at preschool-aged kids, “Deer Squad” lends itself to an ideal consumer products program, adds O’Connor.

Will Chan, creative director, Smart Play, master toy partner for the brand in South East Asia and China, also unveiled plans for toy products based around the series including plush, figurines, transformation vehicles and more.

The series will roll out throughout Europe during the remainder of the year.
