Disney Details NBA Park Experience
Walt Disney World Resort has unveiled its plans for the new NBA Experience at Disney Springs, which is set to open in summer 2019.

The destination, which was developed in a partnership between the National Basketball Association and Walt Disney Imagineering, will offer guests an immersive experience centered around professional basketball.

NBA Experience will feature a look at the NBA Draft with a photo op that recreates the environment of the draft stage. Visitors can track and improve their jump shots in a recreated NBA Combine challenge, enjoy a photo op of a slam dunk, take ball-handling tests, walk through the legacy of the WNBA and access a team locker room that displays current player stats.

Visitors can also participate in NBA and WNBA trivia against 25 competitors, watch two 180-degree cinematic presentations that showcase the in-arena experience moments before the start of the game, hear unique stories from players’ perspectives, enjoy an interactive multi-screen module where they can watch replay clips from NBA games and shop at a retail store with NBA-themed merchandise designed by Disney.

“Developed with the NBA and inspired by the league’s 29 areas around the country, NBA Experience will highlight the heart-pounding action and excitement of the NBA world,” says Stan Dodd, executive producer, Walt Disney Imagineering. “From training simulations and clock-racing competitions to fan-favorite NBA moments–we’re bringing new experiences and thrilling games to life to make fans truly feel like a star player.”
