Target has opened a gaming concept store in San Francisco, Calif, according to a report from Toy Book.
GameStop recently tested new store concepts in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area, and PlayLive Nation has continued opening new locations. Target has joined the gaming concept store party after converting its San Francisco Open House location into a gaming experience store.
“We aren’t just showing you tomorrow’s gaming,” reads a statement on the Open House website. “We hand you a controller and invite you to take it for a spin. In our Game Room, gamers of all skill levels can find new tools to double-jump into an exciting gaming future.”
After a two-month renovation period, Target Open House has re-opened as Game Room. The spacious gaming floor, which Target calls, “a play space for tomorrow’s gamer,” is located at 115 4th St. in San Francisco, Calif.
The experiential retail concept includes interactive demos for PC and console games including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There’s also a place for guests to explore Google Stadia and the Apple Arcade. Hardware and accessories are available to shop in-store as well.
The Target Game Room is open now.
