NORTH AMERICA–Hot Topic has teamed up with For Fans By Fans, We Love Fan’s officially licensed merchandise designed by fans for fans, to create a series of fan art design contests inspired by today’s most popular TV shows.
The contest series will kick off with “Rick and Morty” and will see fans submit their best original artwork for the chance to see their work on a line of t-shirts, which will be sold in Hot Topic stores and online at HotTopic.com. Submissions will be judged by an expert panel of judges, including Justin Roiland, creative, executive producer and the voice of both Rick and Morty. Five winning designs will be selected, with one grand prize winner receiving a $2,000 cash prize.
“We have so many talented fans out there,” says Cindy Levitt, senior vice president, merchandise and marketing, Hot Topic, “A fan art contest is a great way for the biggest fans to showcase their creativity and passion for their fandoms. We’re especially excited to kick off our fan art contest with Adult Swim’s ‘Rick and Morty’–one of our top licenses.”
The “Rick and Morty” fan art contest will end on Nov. 15. Full contest details and official rules can be found online at ForFansByFans.com.
Additional contests will be revealed following the “Rick and Morty” competition.
“For Fans By Fans is all about creating a community that bridges the gap between fans, artists, and the worlds that inspire them,” says Guy Brand, founder, For Fans By Fans. “We can’t wait to see what amazing ‘Rick and Morty’ fan submissions come our way!”
