Warner Bros. Consumer Products U.K. has tapped children’s publisher Curious Fox, an imprint of Capstone, to launch a series of new titles for DC Comics Justice League, Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo.

The deal is an extension of an existing partnership between Capstone and WBCP in the U.S.

The first titles under the three-year deal will launch in May with Curious Fox planning to publish at least 30 books in the next year targeted to boys and girls ages 5- to 12-years-old.

Hero products will include 3-in-1 fiction box sets for Justice League Super Heroes Batman and Superman (June), the illustrated non-fiction titles Batmobiles, Batcycles and The Engineering Behind Batman's Vehicles (July) and hardback gift books such as the Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo Treasuries (summer).

“Publishing is the cornerstone of any successful licensing campaign, with books often being a child’s first experience of a brand,” says Paul Bufton, general manager, WBCP U.K. “Quality books such as those created by Curious Fox add credibility and aids parental favor with our brands. We’re thrilled to have them on board and we’re looking forward to working with them to put our stamp on the U.K. children’s book market.”
