“The Brilliant World of Tom Gates,” based on the book and TV brand created by Liz Pichon, has announced new licensing deals following its nationwide family events program. The Point.1888 –Tom Gates’ brand licensing agent – has announced the signing of three new licensee partners.

The three newly signed – Amscan, Igloo and Intercake – take of partners to 12. The new licensees will add dress up products, coloring and activity sets and cake toppers to the program’s range of product lines, which includes greeting cards, puzzles and games, stationery sets and daywear. These new partnerships will help bring even more of Tom's adventures to life for its fans, ages 6-12.

The Point.1888 has sought to fuel the brand’s popularity by continuing to encourage kids to unleash their creative doodling, painting and writing potential.

“It’s been brilliant to see so many people come together to celebrate ‘Tom Gates’ and all things creative and fun,” says Liz Keynes, commercial director, TG Entertainment. “Live activations and brand partnerships work really well for our super-engaged young fans, and we are looking forward to building on this momentum with our new partners.”

“The success of our recent events demonstrates that there is an appetite from fans both old and new for ‘The Brilliant World of Tom Gates’ products,” says Janine Richmond, head, product and brand, The Point.1888. “We are delighted with how quickly our licensees have responded to this surge in demand with a myriad of new ways to engage with the brand. SkyKids recently announced that it had commissioned a third series of “The Brilliant World of Tom Gates” to air on TV in 2024.

Prior to that, The Eden Project and TG Entertainment joined forces in February half term to offer a plethora of Tom Gates activities for children visiting the eco attraction. Kids of all ages got creative by contributing to food sculptures in the Mediterranean Biome and tracked bugs throughout the Rainforest Biome. Workshops provided tips on doodling and drawing, as well as plenty of crafting opportunities.

TG Entertainment and The Point.1888 also teamed up with retailer ASDA and Scholastic (publisher of the “Tom Gates” book series) in the run up to World Book Day to introduce a colorful range of Tom Gates-branded daywear, nightwear and accessories from licensing partners Poetic Brands, Aykroyds and Roy Lowe & Sons, supported by two weeks of related promotional activity and support.

The new range, which featured products with special color-in bookmark hang tags, was displayed at the aisle end in 100 stores.

Further developments are already underway with more activity planned leading up to 2024 and beyond when the third series airs on Sky Kids.
