Star Stable Entertainment has galloped its way to bookstores with the first publishing deal for its Star Stable gaming brand.

The horse-focused brand will get a book nearly 10 years after the launch of the game. According to Kidscreen, “Soul Riders: Jorvik Calling” will be the first book in a fantasy trilogy. It will launch across the U.S. this month. It will then roll out worldwide later this year. The book comes after other licensing efforts the gaming brand has put out in the past, including music.

“Publishing allows us to deepen engagement with our fans and also appeal to older and younger audiences depending on the types of books we launch moving forward,” says Taina Malen, chief business development officer, Star Stable Entertainment.

Malen added that the company will expand into additional consumer product categories and is currently working with additional partners. Animated content for the franchise will also be dropped at a later date.
