Rockpool Licensing has signed on to represent Four Seasons Licensing and Merchandising’s children’s literary property, Brambly Hedge.

Written by Jill Barklem, the Brambly Hedge series of books have sold more than 6 million copies since they first were released in 1980.

Rockpool and Four Seasons are working jointly with HarperCollins, publisher of the books since their first edition, on an expanded format and consumer product plan for the brand. Beginning with a fresh style guide from Watermelon, products are expected to begin taking shape in 2015.

Products will build on the books’ inherent theme of nature, crafting, foraging and community.

“I have fallen in love with Brambly Hedge and Jill’s beautiful artwork,” says Vickie O’Malley, managing director, Rockpool Licensing. “Our initial focus will be adult-targeted, tapping into the devoted following that Brambly Hedge enjoys with parents, gifters and collectors. At the shows, we’re hoping to meet potential partners across gifting, homewares, collectibles, puzzles and paper product where there is a wonderful track record of international sales success.”

"We are thrilled to have Vickie on the team. Her depth of knowledge of the licensing industry will be invaluable as we try to bring mum’s beautiful artwork and stories to life," says Lizzie Barklem, managing director, Four Seasons, and daughter of Jill Barklem. "We have had so many requests from Brambly Hedge fans for merchandise to return to the shelves and we hope that we can develop a significant licensing program over coming years."
