DreamWorks Animation has tapped DC Thomson to publish a magazine based on the TV series “Noddy, Toyland Detective” in the U.K.

Bulldog Licensing, DreamWorks’ U.K. publishing agent, brokered the deal.

Noddy magazine will be designed for children, ages 3-6, and will include activities such as coloring, sticking, stories and puzzles. The magazine will also feature a cover gift linked to the educational pillars of the magazine–problem solving, exploration, friendship, humor and creativity.

“We are so excited to see Noddy’s return to television accompanied by a wonderful magazine from DC Thomson,” says Harriet Murphy, head, publishing, DreamWorks. “As young fans are getting to know the newly expanded world of Toyland onscreen, we’ll be presenting loads of exciting opportunities to keep the fun going on the pages of Noddy magazine.”

“We’re thrilled to be publishing Noddy magazine,” says Maria Welch, head, children’s publishing, DC Thomson. “Noddy has been a staple of childhood entertainment for many years and our experienced editorial teams are passionate about creating a magazine to engage and inspire this new generation of Noddy fans.”

The Noddy magazine is slated to launch in the U.K. this summer.
