Alibaba to Develop Warriors Series for Film

Alibaba Pictures Group has reached an agreement with U.K.-based fiction Working Partners and its parent company Coolabi Group for film rights for HarperCollins’ book franchise Warriors.

HarperCollins’ book franchise will soon be a major motion picture.

Alibaba Pictures Group has reached an agreement with U.K.-based fiction Working Partners and its parent company Coolabi Group for film rights for HarperCollins’ book franchise Warriors.

Warriors, launched in 2003, has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. It also has an online presence, with more than 70 million views of Warriors user-generated content on YouTube.

“We are delighted to be working with Alibaba Pictures to bring Warriors onto the big screen,” says Chris Snowdon, managing director, Working Partners.

Warriors is an outstanding novel series with a large fan base around the world. Alibaba Pictures is planning to turn Warriors into a film franchise that will bring to life the spectacular animal and jungle worlds depicted in the novels, using world-leading visual effects,” says Zhang Wei, president, Alibaba Pictures.
