On National STEM/STEAM Day on Nov. 8, Mercedes-Benz and Mattel will partner on programs across the U.S. to challenge gender stereotypes in the STEM/STEAM industries.

More than 50,000 young girls across the nation will engage in programs as part of the “No Limits” initiative championed by Mercedes-Benz, Mattel and the National Girls Collaborative Project (NGCP), a network of organizations that encourage girls to pursue science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers.

The first “No Limits” programs will take place in Atlanta, GA, Los Angeles, Calif. and New York, NY. Events will carry through Feb. 2020, with girls across the U.S. participating with more than 79 organizations to engineer toy racetracks, design cars, speak with female role models and attend STEM workshops.

To commemorate the events, Mercedes-Benz and Mattel have also created a limited-edition diecast Matchbox replica of the Mercedes-Benz 220SE, which will be gifted to 50,000 participating children. It was in this car

that Ewy Rosqvist drove to become the first woman to compete in and win the Argentinian Grand Prix.
