Zinkia Entertainment has signed new licensing partners in the U.S. for its multiplatform brand Pocoyo. Evolution Management Group, Zinkia’s North American licensing agent, negotiated the partnerships.
BuySeasons will produce party goods and accessories, Pioneer Balloon Company will create Pocoyo balloons, Baby Boom Consumer Products has signed on for toddler bedding and pillows and JCP Live Productions will produce Pocoyo costume character events.
“Evolution has really examined the Pocoyo brand and understands Zinkia Entertainment’s long-term aspirations for the property,” says Maria Doolan, managing director of brand and business development, Zinkia Entertainment. “They make it their mission to deliver well-suited licensing partners that respect our goals and will augment the reach and life of the Pocoyo brand without compromising its value or integrity.”
These new additions join Pocoyo’s 200-plus existing partners, which include Bentex Group (master apparel), LeapFrog for Pocoyo content on the LeapPad, Bandai America (master toy), Random House Children’s Books (publishing) and TCG (puzzles and games). Pocoyo’s home entertainment partner, NCircle Entertainment, recently renewed its agreement for five more years.
New Pocoyo branded merchandise will begin launching at retail this summer and includes a series of books from Random House, apparel from Bentex, party goods from BuySeasons and new DVD titles from NCircle. In spring 2013, Zinkia will introduce a new Pocoyo Circus theme, which will be incorporated across select product lines.
“The Pocoyo brand combines so many engaging elements–adventure, imagination, learning, social values–it opens the door to a wealth of relevant and organic licensing opportunities,” says Travis J. Rutherford, president, licensing and retail, Evolution.
Evolution will be presenting Pocoyo in Booth 7162 at Licensing Expo, June 12-14 in Las Vegas, Nev.
