Mad Catz Expands Gaming Deal with Harmonix

Harmonix Music Systems has expanded its partnership with Mad Catz Interactive, a third-party entertainment accessory provider, to add gaming accessories for upcoming Rock Band 3.

The expanded agreement includes a keyboard bundle with game, as well as a MIDI adaptor, keyboard stand, microphone stand and drum pedal.

"For Mad Catz, distributing video games along with the relevant accessories is an ideal way to leverage our powerful global distribution capabilities," says Darren Richardson, president and chief executive officer of Mad Catz. "We are also excited about the new products this agreement adds to our range of officially licensed Rock Band peripherals. The MIDI adaptor is especially note-worthy, providing an innovative solution intended to make Rock Band 3 playable by musicians using many standard, MIDI-compatible controllers."

The Rock Band game franchise is published by MTV Games, a part of Viacom's MTV Networks, and developed by MTV Network's Harmonix Music Systems.
