Igloo Releases ‘Friends,’ Lightning McQueen Coolers

Igloo has teamed up with Disney Pixar and Warner Bros. Consumer Products to create a Lightning McQueen and a “Friends” Playmate, respectively.

Available now, a special-edition cooler from Igloo and Disney Pixar is inspired by the racing champion from the animated feature film “Cars.”

“We’ve loved every minute of collaborating with Disney and Pixar on this very special Playmate cooler inspired by the star of the movie ‘Cars,’” says Brian Garofalow, chief marketing officer, Igloo. “With its cool design, the Lightning McQueen Playmate gets fans to have fun off-screen with the champ himself, while also enjoying fresh, cold drinks and food while on the road and at any pit stops along the way.”

Lightning McQueen takes form on the red Playmate tent-top design, featuring artwork of the racer’s #95 and lightning bolt, multiple race stickers and “Rust-eze Medicated Bumper Ointment” sponsor. Under the hood, the Lightning McQueen Playmate Pal has a seven-quart capacity, which can fit up to nine 12-ounce cans and keep it all cold throughout the day.

Another special-edition cooler from Igloo and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, fans of the hit TV series “Friends” can go from binge-watching their favorite show indoors to showcasing it outdoors. 

“It’s been an incredible experience teaming up with Warner Bros. on a Playmate that commemorates ‘Friends,’ which is so universally well-loved,” says Garofalow. “It’s the ideal collaboration: The Playmate cooler, filled with chilled drinks and snacks, brings friends together at fun outings while showcasing your love of ‘Friends.’ The Friends Playmate will definitely make your day, your week, your month, or even your year!”

The special-edition design features a black base and the instantly recognizable “Friends” logo artwork on the tent top. With its spacious 16-quart capacity, it can fit various food and beverages and keep them cold all day. It is also available now on the Igloo website.

These join other recently licensed Igloo products such as the previously announced “The Office” cooler.
