Boat Rocker Studios has tapped Bob Higgins to serve as the company’s executive vice president of kids and family.

In his new role, Higgins will oversee a revamped kids and family content team that absorbs kids’ entertainment division Radical Sheep into Boat Rocker Studios’ Kids and Family.
The newly combined production roster consists of “Next Step,” “Remy & Boo,” “Kingdom Force,” “Danger Mouse” and “Bitz & Bob,” as well other projects. Higgins will also manage Boat Rocker’s co-productions with Industrial Brothers.
He will sit in Boat Rocker’s New York office. Jam Filled Entertainment, Boat Rocker’s 2D and 3D animation studio, will continue to be led by president Kyle MacDougal and fellow co-founders Jamie Leclaire and Phil Lafrance, remaining a separate operating entity from the Kids and Family original content team. The two groups are working on multiple projects and will expand on these opportunities in the future.

Before joining Boat Rocker, Higgins served as executive vice president at FremantleMedia Kids and Family for eight years.
Higgins joined Boat Rocker after the company acquired Fremantle Kids and Family.
He has spearheaded the creative direction of the acquired programming and has collaborated across Boat Rocker's existing portfolio of properties.
Other previous posts include chief creative officer at WildBrain and senior vice president of programming and development for Cartoon Network’s kids’ businesses.
