Kylie Jenner’s eponymous makeup and skincare lines have gained a new chief executive officer in Christoph Honnefelder.
This comes just after Jenner sold a 51 percent stake in her Kylies Cosmetics brand for $600 million. The transaction has allowed beauty giant Coty to take control of the brand and implement new leadership.
“We are pleased to complete this transaction and partner with Kylie Jenner to build a high growth, digitally native beauty brand,” says Pierre Laubies, chief executive officer, Coty.
Jenner will continue to lead all creative efforts for communications initiatives and product, while Coty will maintain overall responsibility for the brand’s portfolio development through their focus on manufacturing, distribution and more. Honnefelder will take over as chief executive officer for both Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin.
“I’m excited to welcome Christoph to the team and look forward to the continued growth of Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin,” says Jenner.
Prior to this role, Honnefelder drove beauty brand growth as executive vice president for Assortment & Purchasing and a member of the executive committee at Douglas. He also spent nine years at German consumer goods and coffee retailer Tchibo in various senior management positions. He began his career at The Boston Consulting Group.
