The Boy Scouts of America has appointed Iris Houston to its supply group retail business development department as a licensing specialist. In her new role, Houston will help the organization continue its licensed products growth with consumer products in the retail marketplace.
Houston joins the BSA from Elvis Presley Enterprises, where she has served as the licensing manager since 2005. In that role, Houston was responsible for developing licensed products bearing the Elvis Presley brand in electronics, apparel, toys, collectables, gifts and novelties. She was also instrumental in the International expansion and growth of the brand into Europe, South America and the U.K.
“Iris brings a solid understanding of retail licensing programs and will substantially add to our existing resources and capabilities,” says Greg Winters, manager, licensing programs, BSA. “Her hire underscores the BSA’s continuing commitment to raising awareness of the Boy Scouts of America’s programs in the consumer market and to help strengthen our connection with our 50 million living alumni.”
