Gaming company highlights content goals with appointment of acclaimed producer.

Activision Blizzard has appointed producer Stacey Sher as co-president of the newly created Activision Blizzard Studios division.

The new unit, which is devoted to creating television and films based on the company’s globally recognized IP such as “Call of Duty” and “Skylanders,” was launched in November.

In her new role, Sher will partner with former Disney Executive Nick van Dyk to co-lead the new studio.

Sher has previously worked as a producer on more than two dozen films including The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained, Erin Brockovich, Garden State and more. She is also a two-time Academy Award nominee and AFI Award Winner.
