Before the Show
Understand your marketplace. Think about what you bring to the table and be prepared to discuss potential revenues and retail distribution options.
Connect with the key contacts and decision makers who drive the licensing programs on behalf of the licensors.
Use Licensing Expo’s Matchmaking Service to search for exhibiting brand owners and agents that match your objectives and get a meeting as early as possible.
Use LinkedIn to follow the people you want to reach.
Don’t send messages full of information, try to keep messages no more than three to four lines.

At the Show
You have limited time, so be prepared. Bring samples and visuals to provide context for what you’re trying to achieve.
Don’t overpromise and be clear about your goals.
Be memorable. Try to come across as excited and someone who wants to continue conversation about the brand.
Build relationships. Be sure to attend the show’s raft of networking events, ranging from the Orientation Breakfast to the Opening Night Party.
After the Show
Follow up with potential partners within two weeks of the show.
Be prepared to adapt as well as remain tenacious.
Utilize LIMA and other networking resources to socialize and create more connections prior to next year’s show.
