Frank Blake, former chief executive officer and current chairman of The Home Depot, has been named the 2015 recipient of the National Retail Federation’s Gold Medal Award. Blake will be honored at Retail’s Big Show, Jan. 12, in New York City.

“As evidenced by The Home Depot’s loyal customer base and storied success, Frank Blake is an excellent choice for the Gold Medal Award,” says Matthew Shay, president and chief executive officer, NRF. “His focus on customer service and employee culture will help solidify his place in history as a great retail leader.”

The Gold Medal Award is given to individuals that have served in the retail industry with distinction and have garnered a national reputation for excellence.

International Retailer of the Year is France’s Galeries Lafayette, while Retail Innovator of the Year is Warby Parker. Chico’s Miki Beradelli, president, digital, chief marketing officer and executive vice president will also be on hand to accept the company’s distinction as the Silver Plaque recipient.
