Marvel Unveils Black Panther Products

Marvel has unveiled the licensing lineup for its superhero Black Panther in honor of his 50th anniversary, first Marvel cinematic appearance and new comic book.

Hasbro, LEGO, Funko and more to release products for superhero’s 50th anniversary.

Marvel has unveiled the licensing lineup for its superhero Black Panther in honor of his 50th anniversary, first Marvel cinematic appearance and new comic book.

The program will include most major categories such as apparel, toys, collectibles, home goods and publishing. Licensees include Fast Forward and Global Design Concepts for bags; Mad Engine, C-Life, Freeze and Fifth Sun for men and women’s apparel; Hasbro for toys; LEGO for construction sets; Diamond Select for Marvel Select figures and Marvel Minimates; Funko for Pop! bobbleheads, Mopeez plush and Dorbz vinyls; Artissimo and Pyramid for wall art; Monogram for novelties; and Rubie’s Costume Co. and Party City for costumes.

Additionally, a new Black Panther comic book, written by author Ta-Nehisi Coates, will release April 6; and the superhero will make its first cinematic debut in upcoming film Captain America: Civil War, which hits theaters May 6.

Select products are available at retailers now, with additional retailers on board for a spring product roll out including Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, Walgreen’s, the Disney Store, Toys ‘R’ Us and certain specialty stores.

“With a new comic book and his first appearance in a Marvel film both occurring during his 50th anniversary year, excitement is already underway for Black Panther product,” says Paul Gitter, senior vice president, licensing, Marvel, Disney Consumer Products. “We are excited to debut this all-new lineup of offerings so fans can start showing off their love for the newest member of the Avengers team.”
