Six Flags Discovery Kingdom’s new themed area will include new rides and attractions inspired by DC’s backlog of characters. The park will add locations for characters such as Batman, The Flash, Wonder Women, Superman, and a rogues’ gallery of universe villains.

“We take great pride in bringing our guests innovative, new experiences every season,” says Don McCoy, park president, Six Flags Magic Kingdom. “DC Universe is the biggest park expansion in recent decades. This newly branded area brings together DC’s most iconic Super Heroes and Super-Villains for a thrilling, one-of-a-kind experience.

The DC Universe themed area will feature two new rides based on The Flash and Batman. Batman: The Ride will be Northern California’s first 4D free fly roller coaster while the Flash: Vertical Velocity will be a high-speed launch coaster. New rides will join other DC-branded attractions based on the Penguin, Joker and Harley Quinn. Six Flags’ new deal comes during Batman’s 80th anniversary. DC will be honoring the caped crusader’s milestone with a celebration on Sept. 21.
