Copyright Promotions Licensing Group, part of DHX Media, has extended its footprint in Europe with the opening of offices in the Nordics and Central and Eastern Europe.

The new offices are located in Stockholm, Sweden, and Warsaw, Poland.

The expansion will be managed by Maarten Weck, current managing director of CPLG Benelux, in his new role as managing director of CPLG Northern Europe.

Additionally, the licensing agency has appointed Jenny Strehle Ilic as commercial director in the Nordics and Slawomir Ekiert as commercial director in CEE.

Strehle Ilic previously worked with Plus Licens and Rovio, and Ekiert headed Ink’s initiatives in Central & Eastern Europe for a number of years.

"CPLG has so much momentum in the business, and this is therefore a natural step in our overall long-term growth plans," says Peter Byrne, chief executive officer, CPLG. "Maarten is the perfect person to lead this expansion. We are very excited to be bringing CPLG's fresh thinking to these markets."

Both CPLG Nordic and CPLG CEE have already been appointed by Mind Candy to represent licensing of the mobile franchise "World of Warriors." Additionally, the new divisions will handle the licensing of all DHX brands, including "Teletubbies" and "Twirlywoos," as well as the Michelangelo brand (which CPLG represents globally).

“It is fantastic to hit the ground running with these great properties," says Steve Manners, executive vice president, CPLG. "We are currently in discussion with several other licensors about potential representation, and have received a very welcome reaction to our growth strategy. We anticipate announcing further representation very shortly.”
