The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Design Store and kitchenware manufacturer, Bodum, have a new licensing agreement and will kick it off with the Bodum Bistro Pop-Up on Thursday, Jan. 11 in New York City.

To mark Bodum’s 80th anniversary, the BistroPop-Up will debut an assortment of coffee, kitchen and electronic products in a bold colorful palette. The Bodum Bistro Pop-Up will be available to shop online and at MoMA Design Stores in SoHo and Midtown in New York City through April 1.

MoMA Design Store and Bodum first collaborated in 1992 when the store released Bodum's Kvadrant Glasses. The exclusive design was in response to customers seeking minimalist but classic glasses that held up to dishwashers and beverages at various temperatures. MoMA Design Store now carries over 40 products, including glassware, electronics and other kitchenware, plus exclusives and special reissues from the company’s archives in Switzerland.

“We’re always seeking new ways to express what Good Design means to us at MoMA Design Store, and we’re thrilled for Bodum, our long-time partner, to play a significant role in this mission as we introduce the Bodum Bistro Pop-Up,” says Emmanuel Plat, director, merchandising, MoMA Retail. “The Pop-Up reflects on three decades of innovative and unexpected product design with Bodum while setting the stage for a new chapter of our partnership, and we're looking forward to sharing this inspiring assortment of products with our audience.”

The Pop-Up at MoMA Design Store will introduce various Bodum MoMA products including a colorful, dyed glass set of Bodum’s iconic Pavina double-walled glasses, as well as the Jazz Porcelain Mug Set, a new counterpart of the customer-favorite Jazz porcelain dinnerware set that debuted in the fall. A programmable 12-cup coffeemaker and borosilicate glass pour-over both offering environmentally friendly and reusable stainless steel coffee filters will also be unveiled, along with a Copenhagen glass mug, saucer and spoon set and special-edition French press set which comes with a Caffettiera French press, Chambord coffee cups, Chambord creamer and sugar bowl.

Products from Bodum’s Nissen brand, such as the trivet and chopping board, will also be featured, as well as customer favorites from MoMA Design Store’s existing Bodum line, including the Caffettiera French press, Assam tea brewer and the Chambord coffee cups in new colorways.

Along with the Pop-Up and Bodum’s 80th anniversary celebration, MoMA Design Store has announced its global licensing partnership with Bodum. This licensing venture will significantly expand the availability of the Bodum MoMA assortment to select retailers worldwide and set the stage for future launches together underlined by Good Design.

“The Museum of Modern Art was one of my father’s favorite museums, and working with MoMA Design Store had always been a big aspiration of his since founding Bodum,” says Peter Bodum, Bodum. “Growing our assortment with MoMA Design Store over the past 30 years has been an incredible experience and the Bodum Bistro Pop-Up is truly a celebratory moment for us. Whether receiving a MoMA Exclusive seal of approval or working together to reissue a product from our archive, it’s been an honor to work with the MoMA Retail team. We’re excited for what’s ahead as we embark on our global licensing partnership.”
