McDonalds and Travis Scott have announced a collaboration that brings a custom branded meal to the market, McDonalds apparel designed by Scott himself and the chance to work on charitable projects together.
Running from Sept. 8 to Oct. 4, McDonalds’ latest collab will create new food, fashion and community efforts with the influence of Scott and his record label-turned-global brand Cactus Jack. It will also include a variety of announcements across this month.
“Everyone has a favorite McDonald’s meal, no matter who you are,” says Morgan Flatley, chief marketing officer, McDonalds U.S. “Travis is a true McDonald’s fan having grown up visiting our restaurants in Houston, not to mention one of the biggest musical acts and cultural icons in the world. This is the first time in nearly 30 years we’ve introduced a superstar’s name to our menu - we’re excited to bring the Travis Scott Meal to a McDonald’s near you starting next week.”
The Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack x McDonalds collaboration is the first time a celebrity's name has landed on the McDonalds menu since Michael Jordan in 1992.
“I couldn’t be more excited to bring the Cactus Jack x McDonald’s collaboration to life,” says Travis Scott. “We are bringing together two iconic worlds. Including a charitable component was key for me, and I can’t wait for people to see what we have in store.”
The McDonald’s deal adds to the slate of unique partnerships from Scott. Earlier this year, Scott launched a new line of merch with “Fortnite” and teamed with General Mills for a special edition box of Reese’s Puffs cereal.
