Tombo Japanese Café and Matcha Bar have recently launched their Sanrio pop-up experience featuring Hello Kitty and friends in celebration of Hello Kitty’s 45ht anniversary. In collaboration with Sanrio, this will be the first time the characters have been brought together in a European Café, with the interiors taken over in a winter wonderland theme. Hello Kitty pop-ups are a commonality for the brand. Just a few months ago, Los Angeles, Calif. hosted a Hello Kitty experience that also celebrated the brand’s 45th anniversary. The travel-themed pop-up gave Hello Kitty fans the chance to “travel” with Hello Kitty across multiple Instagrammable scenes. In addition, fans also got the chance to preview the OPI x Hello Kitty collection, with a number of guests chosen to receive a free Hello Kitty-themed manicure from OPI.
The London pop-up will be available in the Fitzrovia neighborhood and feature dishes inspired by the Hello Kitty brand aesthetic. Guests can choose from three Sanrio-inspired brunch set menus, all-day warming options, lighter options and desserts.
There will be a range of Sanrio x Tombo Café winter merchandise on offer including Tombo x Sanrio Christmas cards, evening bancha tea, mugs, postcards and posters – all featuring special-edition artwork designs. Also on sale is a range of Tombo tea created bespoke for Sanrio, including ceremonial grade matcha tins and matcha latte mix.
The pop-up experience will be up and running for a total of four months across the holiday season.
