Rovio Entertainment has teamed up again with Burger King brand for "Angry Birds" plush toys to King Jr. meals alongside an immersive new augmented reality (AR) experience.

Guests visiting participating Burger King restaurants in locations worldwide can access the web-based AR experience by scanning a QR code inside the restaurants and on items such as plush toys and meal packaging.

The AR experience is built with Zappar's WebAR technology.

After scanning the code with their phone, guests select a virtual "Angry Birds" plush based on the toys included with King Jr. meals. Then, using their phone's camera to position the character's nest, the player is tasked with keeping safe. Finally, players can save a photo of their experience.

"We're thrilled to partner with Zappar and Burger King to create this unique AR experience for 'Angry Birds' fans," says Katri Chacona, director, brand licensing, Rovio Entertainment. "The accessibility of WebAR and wide availability across thousands of Burger King locations make this an incredible opportunity to connect with consumers in new ways."

Participating regions include the U.S., EMEA, APAC and LatAm. The campaign runs through May 31 in most regions and from May 10 to June 20 in the U.S. and Canada.
