Tommy Bahama has named Eric Karp director of brand marketing, a newly created role.

In the position, Karp will be collaborate on the development of new brand strategies and integrate existing strategies into all business initiatives. Karp will also oversee all brand advertising campaigns, public relations, internal communications and other brand building initiatives.

Karp will partner with Kacy Cole, who continues in her position as director of consumer marketing.

“Eric brings a unique perspective to Tommy Bahama that will most certainly help us engage with the public in a more meaningful way,” says Rob Goldberg, senior vice president of marketing, Tommy Bahama. “His deep experience working with some of the world’s greatest brands will give us a fresh point of view. We’re very excited to have him join our team.”

Karp joins Tommy Bahama from Men’s Journal, where he served as the executive director of integrated marketing and creative services. Karp has also held positions at Conde Nast Traveler, GQ, Vanity Fair and Sporting News.
