Barbie Collaborates with Lebanese Couturier Jean-Louis Sabaji for Barbie Inspired Collection

Arab Fashion Council (AFC) has collaborated with 2021 Fashion Icon Awardee,


, and Lebanese couturier Jean-Louis Sabaji for a 2023 fall-winter collection. The debut of the collection will be held at Dubai Design District on Oct. 10, during Arab Fashion Week. 

“Barbie is a brand rooted in culture with fashion at its core, continuously inspired and inspiring the fashion community around us,” says Ruth Henriquez, head, consumer products,


EMEA. “We are thrilled to partner with the Arab Fashion Council once again in this important region, to collaborate with Jean-Louis Sabajis and are excited to see his creative vision recognized in the upcoming collection.” 

“Barbie is a fashion Icon and has been a source of inspiration for many designers’ creative journeys throughout the years,” says Mohammed Aqra, chief strategy officer, Arab Fashion Council. “Jean-Louis Sabajis’ similar early fashion experiences with the doll made the designer a perfect match for this partnership and we are so

excited to see this collection come to life.” 

“My first experience with fashion was dressing a Barbie doll and collaborating with them on a full collection will definitely be the highlight of my career,” says Jean-Louis Sabaji, founder and creative director, Jean-Louis Sabaji.
