Former Disney, Quiksilver executive will lead WBCP following Brad Globe's departure.

After an executive search that lasted four months, Warner Bros. Consumer Products has named a successor to lead its brand extensions division. Pam Lifford, who brings a diverse background in licensing, entertainment and fashion, will assume the role of president, effective Feb. 1, according to Diane Nelson, president of DC Entertainment, and president and chief content officer of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment who announced the appointment earlier today.

Lifford succeeds Brad Globe, former president of WBCP, who announced his retirement late last August after more than a decade at the helm. Globe championed WBCP’s largest licensing initiatives including development of its themed entertainment business led by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the creation of innovative retail programs such as Walmart Premiere Night with Man of Steel, and most recently, the development of DC Super Hero Girls, the first-ever superhero franchise targeted specifically to girls.

As president of WBCP, Lifford will oversee all of the division’s business functions, including domestic and international licensing, worldwide marketing, business and legal affairs, finance and retail business development for its broad portfolio of franchises including DC Comics’ Batman v Superman, Harry Potter, “Looney Tunes, The Hobbit, “Scooby-Doo” and many more, as well as identify new business opportunities within the studio’s library of content.

Lifford will also work with Turner via Cartoon Network and Boomerang to support and build the company’s overall kids’ business.

“Pam is a highly accomplished licensing and consumer products executive and will be a tremendous asset to our company as we build upon the foundation of success established by the team at WBCP,” says Nelson. “Her leadership, experience managing large consumer brands and proven track record building innovative, globally successful licensing and merchandising businesses will be invaluable as we look to maximize our powerful slate of content and our entire vault of intellectual properties.”

Lifford brings more than 25 years of CP experience to WBCP, with past senior executive positions held at Disney and Quiksilver, as well as Road Runner Sports and Nike. She was profiled by License! Global in August 2008, when she was with Disney Consumer Products.

“I look forward to working with the talented teams at Warner Bros. Consumer Products and across the studio to maximize opportunities around their visionary content to create innovative consumer products programs for fans of all ages,” says Lifford.

The new appointment follows another executive move, which was announced on Jan. 11. Barry Ziehl, former head of worldwide public relations and marketing, will take on a new leadership role within Warner Bros. Entertainment as senior vice president, public affairs and strategic initiatives. Read more about Ziehl's new position here.
