Walker Books has created a new leadership role for its licensing programs following an organizational restructure.
The restructure will see Pindy O’Brien take the position of licensing and retail development director, key franchises, U.K. and Europe. She will report directly to Ed Ripley, U.K. sales and marketing, Walker Books, along with the rest of the licensing group.
O’Brien will primarily be responsible for building revenue streams within the Walker Group’s portfolio through the developing, licensing and marketing of IP. She will work closely with key producers, authors and all retailers to build relationships within the role.
“Pindy is fabulous to work with and has become a much-valued member of our commercial team already,” says Karen Lotz, joint managing director, Walker Books. “She combines keen acumen for the consumer marketplace and its growth opportunities as well as an instinctual understanding of and creative respect for our long-standing properties. We could not be in better hands at this exciting moment for our beloved Walker brands.”
Prior to joining Walker Books full time, O’Brien served as a consultant for three years. During her consultancy period, she worked on properties such as “Great British Bake Off.” She also served in various roles with Fremantle Media BBC Worldwide prior to her work with Walker Books.
