Saban Hires Acquisitions Exec

Saban Brands has appointed former Iconix Brand Group executive David Zolot as senior vice president of corporate development for its new lifestyle unit.

Saban Brands has appointed former Iconix Brand Group executive David Zolot as senior vice president of corporate development for its new lifestyle unit, Saban Brands Lifestyle Group.

In this newly created role, Zolot will source and execute new brand acquisitions and corporate finance initiatives for SBLG. He will report to Saban Brands’ managing director of strategic business development, Dan Castle, and Saban Capital Group’s managing director of private equity, Adam Weene, to support the growth of SBLG both organically and through acquisitions.

"David is a strong addition to Saban Brands’ leadership team, bringing extensive knowledge and experience in identifying and acquiring global brands,” says Castle. “With our recent announcement of Saban Brands Lifestyle Group, the timing couldn’t be better to bring in David to help grow this new unit.”

Zolot joins Saban Brands from Iconix where was vice president of strategic development and completed numerous acquisitions, minority investments, and financing transactions. Prior to Iconix, Zolot was an associate director at the private investment banking firm Peter J. Solomon, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and capital structure transactions.
