Jim Henson Names Children’s VP

The Jim Henson Company has tapped Sarah Maizes to take on the newly created position of vice president of children’s entertainment.

The Jim Henson Company has tapped Sarah Maizes to take on the newly created position of vice president of children’s entertainment.

In her new role, Maizes will focus on the production of all preschool and children’s programming for television, home entertainment and digital media in animated and live-action formats.

Most recently, Maizes served as a production executive on the company’s new preschool series “Dot,” which is currently airing on Sprout. She has also held positions with William Morris, Nelvana, KingWorld Animation and Mattel Entertainment, among others.

“Sarah brings her rich entertainment experience and deep understanding of kids and parents to her new role at Henson,” says Halle Stanford, executive vice president, children’s entertainment, Jim Henson Company. “She has a truly authentic point-of-view as both a parent and a grown-up kid, that will give a hilarious, honest touch to her work.”
