GameStop Powers Up with Walmart Exec

GameStop has tapped Walmart veteran Dawn Henry to serve as the vice president of its ThinkGeek division.

In her new role, Henry will work to grow the pop culture retailer and closely with those responsible for supporting and developing the company’s strategy and merchandising operations within the collectibles business and e-commerce channels.

“Adding a seasoned toy and licensed retail merchant such as Dawn to our team demonstrates our continued commitment to further accelerate the growth of our global Collectibles business,” says, Janet Bareis, senior vice president, GameStop. “Having worked with Dawn while I was at Walmart, I know firsthand how fortunate we are to have such an accomplished and innovative merchant leading our ThinkGeek division.”

Previously, Henry served in a number of senior buyer roles at Walmart. Most recently she worked to grow the company’s girl’s business, working on product innovation, brand acquisitions and licensing negotiations.

GameStop is set on expanding its team of retail merchants and focusing on collectibles.
