Chris Taylor, chief executive officer, UU Licensing Worldwide, as a Momot

Momots are creative and highly stylized paper creations, featuring some of the most well-known licensed characters from Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros., DC Comics and Nickelodeon. The extraordinary visual appeal of the finished Momot gives families a fun and creative activity to do together–the antidote to digital. Since recently acquiring the global rights to Momot, newly formed licensing agency UU Licensing Worldwide is now taking the brand outside of Korea. Timing could not have been better, as Brand Licensing Europe, set for Oct. 11-13, is the perfect platform to showcase the launch of the company’s host of products to all of Europe.

License! Global spoke with Chris Taylor, chief executive officer, UU Licensing Worldwide, to learn more about what these “creative paper people” have in store for this year’s show.

How did Momot begin?
The brand was the vision of four young Koreans who made the hobby of clever paper engineering into a lifestyle product. “Nemo nemo” means rectangle in Korean and combining it with the “ot” of robot and you have the company’s name: Momot.

UU Licensing Worldwide quickly discovered that Momot was not only the go-to brand for any form of paper design, but also the one with an extensive licensing portfolio.

What’s one of your most popular licensed products?
Any of our superhero products.

Where can consumers purchase Momot licensed products?
We are setting up our distribution channels right now, so we would love to talk to anyone who is as passionate about our products as we are. Come see us at BLE–Stand #E90.

Are you hoping to meet anyone particular at BLE?
We know all of our partners will be excited to see their licenses come to life in Momot form, particularly the huge characters, and that retailers will be flocking to the booth to place orders. And if Mo Farah, an Olympic British distance runner, is attending, we would love to make him a “Mo”mot.

What part of the show are you most looking forward to?
We are agency veterans who have been attending Brand Licensing Europe since its first began and are excited to see it from the other side as an exhibitor.

Will you be including any activations at your booth?
We have larger than life Momots that we’re sure everyone will want to be photographed with.

What’s on the horizon for Momot in 2017?
We’re planning to add more licenses, shapes and sizes, as well as more Momots!
