Starbreeze Studios will host a live VR experience for fans while WayForward and Night School Studio are on board to release new games based on the film.

Universal Brand Development has revealed three new digital experiences–including a location-based VR game, mobile game and console game–based on the new movie The Mummy, in theaters now.

First, “The Mummy Prodigium Strike” is a location-based VR experience developed by Starbreeze Studios. During the game, players will take on the role of a Prodigium agent and are tasked with capturing the ancient princess Ahmanet–all while battling hordes of ravens, spiders and the undead. “The Mummy Prodigium Strike” is currently open in Los Angeles and New York City.

The Mummy Dark Universe Stories,” from Night School Studio, will serve as an episodic adventure game for iOS and Android devices. The new mobile game will pick up where the movie leaves off and enable players to choose from multiple narrative options that will take players deeper into the Dark Universe. The game will launch later this month.

Finally, “The Mummy Demastered,” from WayForward, is a new platform adventure game that will see players enter a world of evil as an elite Prodigium agent who is tasked to take down Princess Ahmanent’s army of the undead and save the world. The new game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam in late August.

"As Universal makes a strategic push into gaming, we felt The Mummy was the perfect place to start," says Chris Heatherly, executive vice president, worldwide games and digital platforms, Universal Brand Development. "We worked with the best developers in their fields and took creative risks to imagine exciting new ways for fans to enter the Dark Universe."
