Universal Hollywood Adds New Attractions

The makeover began in 2012 with the launch of

Transformers: The Ride–3D

, and continued with the addition of

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

and Super Silly Fun Land based on the

Despicable Me

film franchise, which opens this month.

Popular attractions from Universal’s Orlando, Fla., sister park will also be added including

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

(2016), The Simpsons Ride (summer 2015) and an immersive

Springfield area

inspired by the Simpsons’ hometown (spring 2015).

Newly announced is Fast & Furious–Supercharged, a ride based on the film series that will become the grand finale on the iconic Studio Tour.

Situated in a newly constructed 50,000-square-foot building on the studio’s backlot, the ride has been conceived as a new, original installment to the dynamic film series that will catapult guests into the underground

world of car racing.

“This is a pivotal time in the history of Universal Studios Hollywood as we build upon our extraordinary success and expand our vision for the future of our world-class destination,” says Larry Kurzweil, president, Universal Studios Hollywood. “This broad investment in our five-year transformation will further strengthen Universal Studios Hollywood as an economic leader, significantly contributing to long-term employment opportunities and tourism throughout L.A.”
