Sole DXB to Launch Vending Machine Concept Shop

MIDDLE EAST–Sole DXB, the three-day global street culture festival that takes places in Dubai, has partnered with Virgin Megastore to bring an experimental update to its concept store, Early Retirement, for the 2017 event.

Early Retirement will feature exclusive event merchandise as well as Andy Warhol and Fragment [email protected] collectible toys, ‘80s Walkmans and more.

During the three-day festival, Early Retirement will feature a host of exclusive collaborations, event merchandise and Tokyo-sourced goods, all of which will be available in specially imported, automated retail vending machines.

Select highlights from the vending machine concept shop include Andy Warhol and Fragment [email protected] collectible toys, 8-Bit music composers, original 1980’s Walkmans, hip-hop tapes and much more. It will also feature exclusive merchandise created by Sole DXB including a 13-piece apparel collection as well as a two-piece collaboration with the lifestyle brand Wacko Maria.

station perfectly preserved in a ‘90s Gulf chic and even the suburban outskirts of the Al Qudra desert,” says Amirah Tajdin, director, Sole DXB. “Thus, through a series of surreal juxtaposition, the viewer is transported across Dubai, following the zen like journey of what seems to be a vending machine.”

Sole DXB will take place Dec 7-9 in Dubai.
