The art and design school will feature costumes from Hulu’s dystopian series.

NORTH AMERICA–The Savannah College of Art and Design has unveiled a new exhibit to showcase a host of costumes from the Hulu series “The Handmaid’s Tale,” produced by MGM Television.

The school’s first exhibition, which will take place at the SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film, will feature more than 40 pieces from the series’ first and second season and will focus on the intersection of film and fashion.

Furthermore, to celebrate the opening, Hulu will partner with SCADFILM to host a screening of “The Handmaid’s Tale: Season 2, Episode 3” at SCADshow in Atlanta, April 30. The event will be followed by a Q+A discussion with cast and producers of the series.

“The beauty of SCAD degree programs lives in the direct connection between classroom instruction and industry–you see it in everything SCAD does, including the celebrated exhibitions of our teaching museums,” says Paula Wallace, president and founder, SCAD. “Our university is top-ranked for the study of costume design, and we’re pleased to welcome the year’s most acclaimed costume designs to SCAD FASH. Prepare to step inside the world of fashion and the world of film with this sensational exhibition of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ at SCAD FASH, America’s only museum of fashion and film.”

The collaboration will also celebrate SCAD’s top 10 ranking in “Best Schools for Costume Design” by The Hollywood Reporter, as well as costume designer Anne Crabtree’s Costume Designers Guild award for ‘excellence in contemporary television’ for her work with the TV series.

“The Handmaid’s Tale” exhibition will take place April 30-Aug. 12. Meanwhile, the second season of the series is set to premiere April 25 on Hulu.
