SCAD to Showcase 'The Handmaid’s Tale'

The art and design school will feature costumes from Hulu’s dystopian series.

NORTH AMERICA–The Savannah College of Art and Design has unveiled a new exhibit to showcase a host of costumes from the Hulu series “The Handmaid’s Tale,” produced by MGM Television.

The school’s first exhibition, which will take place at the SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film, will feature more than 40 pieces from the series’ first and second season and will focus on the intersection of film and fashion.

Furthermore, to celebrate the opening, Hulu will partner with SCADFILM to host a screening of “The Handmaid’s Tale: Season 2, Episode 3” at SCADshow in Atlanta, April 30. The event will be followed by a Q+A discussion with cast and producers of the series.

The collaboration will also celebrate SCAD’s top 10 ranking in “Best Schools for Costume Design” by The Hollywood Reporter, as well as costume designer Anne Crabtree’s Costume Designers Guild award for ‘excellence in contemporary television’ for her work with the TV series.

“The Handmaid’s Tale” exhibition will take place April 30-Aug. 12. Meanwhile, the second season of the series is set to premiere April 25 on Hulu.
